During the 2010 Improving Outcomes meeting, we will be hosting a case study clinic, in which experts will discuss and dispense their wisdom on a range of complex cases provided by you, the audience. Delegates are invited to share their cases with the audience and then the panel will discuss:
- The best treatment approach for the patient
- What would have been the most appropriate treatment and how should it have been introduced?
- How could the treatment problems be minimised or avoided in the future?
Cases of particular interest include:
- Patients with high levels of dependency involving high doses of heroin
- Patients maintained on very high doses of methadone requiring transfer
- Patients with a long history of opioid-dependency
- More problematic cases including patients with psychiatric comorbidities and those with dual-dependency
- Patients with HIV/AIDS on ARVT
- Patients with significant concurrent liver and/or renal disease.
If you have treated a patient with a complex opioid-dependency profile, we would be delighted if you would share your experiences with us by submitting it here. |
